Fall Enthusiast Reviews Seasonal Products At Trader Joe's

Updated: May 29, 2023

October is here, which means it is time for stores to feature their fall seasonal products! Trader Joe’s always comes through with a selection of pumpkin-themed everything, so I decided to give some of them a try. Here are five fun ones for this fall!

1. Pumpkin Pancake and Waffle Mix

Pumpkin pancakes and waffles for breakfast signal the quintessential October morning. This was the first autumn-themed product I tried this year, and it was the perfect thing to put me into the fall spirit. The flavor is balanced--not too sweet, not too savory--with just the right hints of nutmeg, cinnamon, and ginger. You don’t even need syrup; the taste stands on its own.

2. Spiced Cider

Hot or iced, spiced cider is delicious either way. The aroma alone makes you think of a crisp autumn day when colorful leaves start to appear and fall from the trees. Well, we don’t have that much “fall” in Southern California, but it’s great to sip the cider when you want to imagine autumn. Spiced cider is ideal for snuggling up to watch a scary movie or when you are in need of a cold, refreshing drink on a hot October day. This drink is also perfect to serve up at Halloween parties; it’s not as filling as hot cocoa and you can still have that October spirit.

3. Pumpkin Tortilla Chips

These are addicting in their simplicity. Pumpkin tortilla chips are an interesting spin on a staple snack. The pumpkin taste is subtle, but they certainly smell and look pumpkin flavored. Plus, who doesn’t love tortilla chips? They’re always an easy side to scoop up a seasonal salsa or dip.

4. Pumpkin Bisque

Pumpkin bisque is much like a creamy tomato or butternut squash soup, topped with savory pumpkin flavor, and a bit of sweetness. This smooth and delicately seasoned soup is good for autumn lunches, or a nice starter before dinner. Bisque could be paired with the pumpkin tortilla chips, or anything crunchy.

5. Pumpkin Spice Rooibos Tea with Pumpkin Oat Beverage

Brewed pumpkin spice rooibos tea with a splash of pumpkin oat beverage are a perfect complement to the other. The scent of cloves, cinnamon, orange, and nutmeg takes me back to pumpkin patches, sweater weather, and cozy evenings. This tea is good for when you’re in the mood for something seasonal and hot, but not as strong as the spiced cider.

These are just a few of the “pumpkin-palooza” products at Trader Joe’s, with everything from pumpkin samosas and empanadas, to pumpkin-spice hummus and spreads.

What are some of your favorite classic fall foods?
